Aman watches the dark web for information linked to your business and tells you what to do when something turns up. This guide explains what Aman monitors, how it works, and what you will see in your report.
What the dark web is, and why it matters #
The dark web is the part of the internet that search engines do not index and normal browsers cannot reach. It is where criminals buy and sell stolen data taken from breached websites and services.
When a service one of your staff signed up to gets breached, the stolen records often end up circulating there. If a work email address and password are in that data, criminals can try those details against your other accounts, impersonate your business, or target your team with convincing scams.
What Aman monitors #
Aman monitors assets. An asset is either:
- a domain belonging to your business, for example yourcompany.ae
- an email address, such as a shared mailbox or an individual staff address
You choose exactly which domains and addresses are watched, and you can change that list at any time. Your total number of monitored assets is shown on your Aman dashboard.
How Aman works #
1. You choose what is monitored #
You add your domains and email addresses in your AEserver account. Nothing is installed and no software runs on your computers.
2. Aman scans continuously #
Aman searches the dark web around the clock across billions of breached records, looking for anything tied to the assets you added.
3. You get a report and act on it #
Findings appear in your Dark Web Breach Report. Each one names the breach, the date, which of your assets was caught in it, exactly which types of data were exposed, and the steps you should take.
Where to find Aman #
Aman lives inside your AEserver account. Sign in, open My Products and Services, and select your Aman service. The Aman dashboard gives you three shortcuts:
| Shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|
| Login to Aman | Opens the Aman portal, where your full breach report lives. There is no separate password. |
| Dark Web Breach Report | Takes you straight to the list of breaches found. |
| Scanned Assets | Shows the domains and email addresses being monitored, and lets you change them. |
The dashboard also shows your plan, renewal date, number of monitored assets, and service status, along with a summary of breaches found, assets scanned and data points scanned.
What your report contains #
Your Dark Web Breach Report is organised by month and includes:
- Threat score, an indication of your overall exposure, broken down by data type
- Breaches found, assets scanned and data points scanned
- a summary of whether social media or payment card information was found
- one card per breach, with the source, date, affected assets, data exposed, and recommended actions
There is also a built in knowledgebase inside the portal, and a support option on every individual finding.
What Aman does not do #
Aman also cannot delete leaked data. No service can, because once information has been copied and shared it is beyond recall. What Aman gives you is early warning, so you can change passwords and secure accounts before the data is used against you.
