Renewing your domain name on time is one of the most important things you can do as a domain owner. If your domain expires, your website goes offline, your email stops working, and after a short grace period the name can be released and registered by someone else. This guide walks you through the complete renewal process on AEserver step by step, from logging in to your account to confirming the payment.
The process works exactly the same for every domain extension we offer, including .ae, .com, .net, .org, .co.ae, .me, and any other TLD registered through your AEserver account. You can also renew several domains in a single checkout if more than one is approaching expiry.
Before You Begin #
Make sure you have the following ready before starting the renewal:
| What You Need | Details |
|---|---|
| Your AEserver account credentials | The email address and password you used to register the domain. If you forgot your password, use the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page to reset it. |
| A valid payment method | Credit/debit card, PayPal, bank transfer, or account credit balance. AEserver accepts all major cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. |
| The exact domain name | Know which domain you want to renew. If you have many domains, check the expiry date in your client area first. |
Step-by-Step Renewal Process #
Go to My Account on the AEserver website #
Open your browser and visit aeserver.com. In the top-right corner of the homepage, click the My Account link to open the client portal login page.
Log in to your AEserver client area #
Enter the email address registered with your AEserver account in the Email Address field, then type your password in the Password field. Click the blue Login button to access your account.
If “Remember Me” is checked, your browser will keep you signed in for future visits on the same device. Leave it unchecked if you are using a shared or public computer.
Open the Renew Domains page from the Domains menu #
Once you are inside the client area, look at the top navigation bar and hover over the Domains menu. A dropdown will appear. Click Renew Domains from the list.
This page automatically lists every domain on your account that is eligible for renewal, including those that have already expired but are still within the renewal grace period.
Select the renewal period and add the domain to your cart #
On the Renew Domains page, find the domain you want to renew. Each entry shows the domain name, the current expiry date, and a status label such as “Expired 28 days ago” or the number of days remaining before expiry.
Use the Available Renewal Periods dropdown to choose how many years you want to extend the domain by. You can typically pick 1, 2, 3, 5, or even up to 10 years depending on the extension. The price next to each option already includes the renewal fee for the full period.
After selecting the period, click the Add to Cart button next to that domain. Once added, the button changes to Added and the domain appears in the Order Summary panel on the right side of the page.
If you have several domains expiring around the same time, repeat the same process for each one. They will all be added to the same cart and you can pay for them in a single transaction.
When you have added all the domains you want to renew, click the blue View Cart button on the right side of the page to proceed to checkout.
Review your order and apply a promo code if you have one #
The next page is titled Review & Checkout. Here you can verify the list of domain renewals, the renewal period for each one, and the total amount due.
If you have a valid promotional code, type it into the Enter promo code if you have one field and click Validate Code. The discount will be applied automatically and reflected in the Order Summary on the right.
To remove a domain from the cart, click the small x icon next to its line item. To clear the entire cart, click Empty Cart.
Once everything looks correct, click the green Checkout button on the right side of the page.
Choose your payment method and complete the order #
On the final checkout page, select your preferred payment method from the available options. AEserver supports several ways to pay:
| Payment Method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Credit / Debit Card | Visa, Mastercard, American Express. Processed instantly through a secure gateway. |
| PayPal | Pay using your PayPal balance or any card linked to your PayPal account. |
| Bank Transfer | Slower option, the renewal is processed only after the funds clear, which may take 1 to 3 business days. |
| Account Credit | If you have a positive balance on your AEserver account, it can be used directly to pay for the renewal. |
Review the final amount, accept the Terms of Service if prompted, and click the Complete Order button to finalize your renewal.
For card payments, you may be redirected to a 3D Secure authentication page where you confirm the transaction with a one-time password sent to your phone or generated in your banking app. Once authentication succeeds, you will be returned to AEserver and shown a confirmation page.
What Happens After You Renew #
After a successful payment, several things happen automatically:
- Confirmation email, you receive an invoice and a renewal confirmation at the email address registered on your account.
- Updated expiry date, the new expiry date appears in your client area within a few minutes for most extensions. Some country-code TLDs may take up to 24 hours to reflect the new date.
- Continuous service, your website, email, and any other services tied to the domain keep working without interruption.
- Updated WHOIS, the public WHOIS record is updated by the registry to show the new expiry date, usually within a few hours.
Frequently Asked Questions #
Can I renew an expired domain? #
Yes, in most cases. Each domain extension has a grace period after expiry during which renewal is still possible at the regular price. For .ae and most generic TLDs, this is usually around 30 days. After the grace period ends, the domain enters a redemption phase where recovery is possible but at a much higher fee. After redemption, the name is released to the public.
How much does it cost to renew? #
Renewal pricing depends on the extension. Each extension has its own renewal fee set by the registry. The exact price for your domain is shown directly in the renewal period dropdown when you reach the Renew Domains page, so there are no surprises at checkout.
Can I switch on Auto-Renew so I never have to do this manually? #
Yes. Inside the client area, go to Domains → My Domains, click on the domain, and toggle Auto-Renew to On. As long as a valid payment method is saved on your account, the system will automatically renew the domain a few days before expiry.
What if my card payment fails? #
If a payment fails, the order remains in your account as an unpaid invoice. You can retry the payment with the same card, switch to a different payment method, or contact AEserver support for help. The domain stays in renewal-pending state and is not yet renewed until the invoice is paid.
Will my website go offline during renewal? #
No. Renewing simply extends the registration period of the domain. The DNS settings, hosting, email, and all other services remain untouched and continue to work without any interruption.
