How to reset your Spark AI site

4 min read

Start over with a fresh prompt when your site isn’t what you wanted

Try these first #

Resetting deletes all your pages and content permanently. Before you do that, check whether something less drastic solves your problem:

What’s wrong Try this instead
You don’t like the look of it Ask the AI Agent to show you other website designs — your content stays, only the design changes
The colours or fonts are wrong Use the AI Agent’s one-click Change website colors or Change website fonts
Some of the wording is wrong Turn on Quick Edit and fix it directly on the page
A page is missing or unwanted Ask the AI Agent to create or delete it
A whole section is wrong Select the block, click Ask AI, and describe what it should be

A reset makes sense when the foundation is wrong — your original description didn’t describe your business properly, or your business has changed direction entirely.

What a reset does #

Deleted permanently:

  • Every page and post Spark AI generated
  • All the copy on those pages
  • Your navigation menus
  • Any edits you made after generation

Untouched:

  • Your domain name
  • Your AEserver hosting account and plan
  • Your WordPress installation and login
  • Your email accounts
  • Files you uploaded to the Media Library yourself
⚠️

A reset cannot be undone. If there’s anything on your current site you’d be sorry to lose, copy it somewhere safe first — or take a full backup. See our guide to exporting your website.

How to reset #

  1. Go to WP Admin — use the toolbar button at the top of your site, or log in through your AEserver Client Area.
  2. Click Site Assistant at the top of the left-hand menu.
  3. Scroll down to the Quick Links panel.
  4. Click Reset site.

Reset site sits in Quick Links, bottom right.

You’ll get a confirmation screen headed Start Over? that tells you exactly how many pages and posts will be deleted.

Read the number before you continue — this is your last chance to back out.
  1. Check the count matches what you expect.
  2. Click Delete and start over to proceed, or Exit to cancel.

You can also just ask the AI Agent to reset your site — it will take you to the same confirmation screen.

After the reset #

You’re returned to the same screen you started on: “Describe the website you want to build”.

Getting a better result second time #

Your prompt is the only input Spark AI gets, so this is where the improvement has to come from.

  • Name the specific problem. If the first site had a shop you didn’t want, write “we don’t sell anything online — we want enquiries by contact form”.
  • Add the details that were missing. Location, target customer, the two or three services you actually want featured.
  • State practical requirements outright. Currency, language, opening hours, bookings.
  • Use Enhance with AI, then read what it produced before clicking Next. Editing it there is much cheaper than resetting again.
  • Mention tone if it mattered. “Keep the tone formal and understated” is a valid instruction.

Common questions #

How many times can I reset? #

As often as you like. There’s no limit and no charge.

Can I undo a reset? #

No. Deleted pages are gone. Take a backup first if you’re unsure.

Will I lose my domain or email? #

No. A reset only clears the website content. Your domain, hosting and email accounts are unaffected.

How long does it take? #

The reset itself is quick, and you can start describing your new site straight away. The rebuild then takes the usual 60 to 90 seconds.

What about plugins I installed? #

Plugins you installed yourself aren’t removed by the reset, but any content or configuration tied to deleted pages will need setting up again.

Some content survived the reset #

Pages you created yourself outside Spark AI may not be counted in the reset. Delete them manually from WP Admin → Pages, or contact support for a full clean reset.

If you’re unsure whether resetting is the right move, contact AEserver support before you confirm — we’d rather talk it through than have you lose work.
