What the Spark AI Agent can do for you, how to ask, and where its limits are
How Spark AI works #
Every request you make is routed automatically to the AI Agent best suited to it. You don’t pick an agent or a mode — you describe what you want and the system decides how to handle it.
Replies always come back in the same language you wrote in, whatever your site’s language settings say.
If your request falls outside what the agent can do directly, the Support Specialist steps in and walks you through doing it manually — so you get an answer either way.
The three ways to reach Spark AI #
Once your site is built, a toolbar sits across the top of it:

Important: the agent asks before it saves #
This is the single most important thing to understand about Spark AI.
When the agent completes a request it does not save the change. It applies it to your browser preview and then asks you to confirm:
- Save — keep the change permanently
- Try Again — ask the agent for a different attempt
- Cancel — discard it and put the page back
If you navigate to another page while a change is still awaiting confirmation, the change is lost and you may see the message “Error running block-patching.” Always confirm or cancel before moving on.
One-click actions #
For the most common site-wide changes you don’t need to type anything. The AI Agent lists them under “What’s next? Would you like to do something else?” — click Show more to see them all.

Each one opens a visual picker inside the chat. Choosing Change website colors, for example, shows you ten ready-made palettes — click one, then Save or Cancel.
Where each capability works #
Some things can be asked for anywhere; others need you to point at a specific part of the page first. The tables below use these terms:
- Everywhere — works from any screen
- Front-end — works while you’re viewing your site
- Selected block — turn on Quick Edit, hover the part you want to change, click Ask AI, then type your request
- Admin Dashboard — works inside WP Admin
Selecting a block attaches it to your message as a “1 block selected” chip, so the agent knows exactly what you mean:

Editing text without the AI Agent #
For straightforward copy changes you don’t need the agent at all. Turn on Quick Edit, hover the text and click Quick Edit on the little toolbar that appears. You get bold, italic, links, alignment, text colour and highlight, right there on the page.
While a Quick Edit is open the AI Agent is paused and its message box reads “Finish editing first”. Click Save or Cancel to release it.
The Help Center #
Separate from the AI Agent, a Help Center is available in your WordPress dashboard with three sections:
- Knowledge Base — searchable WordPress documentation, read inline
- Tours — guided walkthroughs, including a tour of whichever page you’re on
- Ask AI — a chatbot for general how-to questions
Knowledge Base articles open inside the panel, so you don’t lose your place in WordPress while you read.
Current limitations #
- AI image generation is capped at 10 images per day.
- Changes must be confirmed. Nothing the agent does is saved until you click Save, and navigating away first will lose the change.
- Supported sites only. Spark AI works on sites that have completed the AI Website Builder onboarding and are using the compatible theme.
- The agent can be wrong. The panel says so itself — “AI Agent can make mistakes. Check changes before saving.” Review before you confirm.
- Unsupported requests are handed to the Support Specialist, who gives you step-by-step manual instructions instead.
