At AEserver, we take the safety and fairness of the .ae domain space seriously. If you come across a problem—whether it’s a domain name that seems suspicious or website content that breaks the law—there are clear steps you can follow to report it.
1. Complaints About a Domain Name
If you notice a domain name ending in .ae or .امارات that looks unethical, offensive, or seems to break UAE rules or .ae domain policies, you can report it directly to the .ae Domain Administration (aeDA).
Examples of what you can report:
- A domain name that seems fake or misleading.
- A name that promotes something illegal or inappropriate.
- A domain that doesn’t meet .ae eligibility rules.
The aeDA will review your complaint and take action if the domain name is found to be in violation.
2. Complaints About Website Content
If the content of a website (with a .ae or .امارات domain) is illegal—for example, if it contains scams, hate speech, or other unlawful material—you need to follow the UAE’s TDRA Internet Guidelines to request that the content be removed.
Important: This process focuses on the actual content of the website, not just the domain name.
3. Disputes Over Legal Rights (e.g., Trademarks or Brand Names)
Do you believe a domain name is infringing on your rights—such as your brand, business name, or trademark? There’s a formal way to challenge this.
The UAE Domain Name Dispute Resolution System allows you to file a case if you think a domain has been unfairly registered or is harming your business.
Here’s how it works:
- Cases are reviewed by independent legal experts who specialize in domain disputes.
- The process is handled by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center or you can choose to take your case to the UAE courts.
- Many disputes are resolved through mediation before a final decision is made.
To fully understand the process and your options, check the UAE Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy and Rules.
